Isdianto Immediately Appointed as the Definitive Governor of KEPRI, Here is the Clarification

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Ad-interim Governor of the Riau Islands, Isdianto, confirmed the news about his appointment as the definitive governor replacing the previous official, Nurdin Basirun.

"Definitive is the authority of the center. Of course, we are waiting for the center. We hope to be hastened. Last morning, the Minister of Home Affairs has congratulated me," said Isdianto at Batam Center, Thursday (6/25/2020). 

According to him, the current determination of the Governor is currently in the process of the Ministry of Home Affairs. 

However, Isdianto said, the appointment as the definitive Governor did not affect his performance so far.

"Whether it's ad-interim or definitive, it still won't affect my performance. I remain focused on the welfare of the Riau Islands community and carry out my duties and responsibilities continuing the performance of the previous Governor, "said Isdianto. 

Previously it was rumored that Isdianto would be appointed as the definitive governor.

That was after the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian congratulated Isdianto, who was said to be the definitive governor of the Riau Islands.

The statement was said by Tito when opening an online meeting on the agenda for the Stimulation of the Implementation of the 2020 elections through video conference. 

Meanwhile, related to the implementation of regional head elections, Isdianto explained that currently, he is in communication with a number of political parties.

Communication that has been established, among others, is with the Nasdem Party and Golkar Party, including the candidate accompanying him as a candidate for deputy governor. (*)
