TRIBUNBATAM.id - Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Arief Budiman said, there were 21 Indonesian KPU employees who tested positive for Covid-19.
All of them tested positive after taking the swab test which was held by the KPU for three days, namely on 3, 4 and 5 August 2020.
"Since the test on 3 (August), there were three (positive Covid-19), the August 4 test, 12 (positive Covid-19), then today there are 6 (positive Covid-19). So totally 21, "said Arief in a virtual discussion that was held on Thursday (6/8/2020).
Arief said, actually the Covid-19 case in the KPU environment first occurred on July 20. At that time, an expert was declared infected with the coronavirus because he contracted his wife.
The experts were then asked to isolate themselves for 14 days. The KPU office was disinfected.
Then, on July 22, the KPU held a swab test for 252 KPU employees, including commissioners, general secretary, and other staff.

The results of the swab test at that time showed three positive people for corona.
KPU, said Arief, again disinfected throughout the building.
Arief said that not all of the positive cases of Covid-19 in the KPU were categorized as infectious. There are also those who are positive, but the category is non-infectious or has led to a healing direction so it is not contagious.
Even so, all KPU employees who tested positive for Covid-19 were asked to self-isolate at home for the next 14 days.
The KPU has also again implemented work from home for all employees. All corners of the KPU building were disinfected today. (*)
