Batam DPRD Council Secretary Becomes Suspect of Corruption in Consumption Budget

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Batam District Prosecutor's Department (Kejari) appointed Secretary of the Council (Sekwan) DPRD Batam, Asril as a suspect.

Asril is suspected of being involved in corruption in the consumption expenditure budget of the Batam City DPRD leadership.

Asril is the party responsible for managing expenditure funds for elements of the Batam DPRD leadership.

"Determination of the suspect applies today. Therefore, we immediately announce it as a form of transparency in the investigation that has been going on for several months, ”said Head of the Batam Prosecutor's Department, Dedie Tri Hariyadi in a written statement, Thursday (6/8/2020).

According to Didie, Asril is the element of the most responsible official in the budget for the Batam City DPRD Secretariat.

As for the value of state losses suffered, it is estimated that it reached Rp 2.16 billion.

The consumption budget corruption was allegedly carried out from 2017 to 2019.

"Rp 2.16 billion is a state loss as a result of calculations carried out by BPKP Representatives of the Riau Islands (Kepri)," said Didie. (*)
