Contact with Riau Islands Governor Isdianto, 866 Citizens Stated Negative of Covid-19

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Batam city BTKLPP examined 1,048 swab samples of residents related to contacts with Riau Islands Governor Isdianto.

Riau Islands Governor Isdianto tested positive for Covid-19 after his inauguration from Jakarta.

RT-PCR examination had been carried out since last week, and on Saturday (8/8/2020), more than half of the samples had been examined.

As a result, as many as 866 people tested negative for Covid-19 in Tanjungpinang City.

The sample of residents examined came from various age backgrounds, ranging from babies less than 1 year old, to elderly 64 years.

Thus, there are about 182 samples that are still in the process of being examined at BTKLPP Batam.

Waiting for the results of the examination, Chief Executive of Riau Islands Covid-19 Task Force, T.S. Arif Fadillah, urged residents to continue to isolate themselves independently until the results were announced.

"Let's pray that our brothers and sisters who are exposed to Covid-19 will get well soon, and hopefully this pandemic will end soon.

Before a vaccine is found, the discipline of health protocol is our anti-virus," concluded Arif.
