The Governor of Riau Islands (Kepri), Isdianto, said that he would leave his position and return all state facilities while he was Governor of Kepri.

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Governor of Riau Islands (Kepri), Isdianto, said that he would leave his position and return all state facilities while he was Governor of the Riau Islands.
This was said by Isdianto when holding a meeting with a number of media crews in Batam, Wednesday (2/9/2020).
The sudden statement surprised a number of the reporters.
However, after that Isdianto explained that the actions to be taken were related to his participation in the regional elections.
"I will leave my position and return all the state facilities I used. I will take a big leave of absence because I will carry out a political campaign with my political partner, Suryani from the PKS Party," said Isdianto in Batam, Wednesday.
Isdianto said that the statement would be realized in early September 2020.
"I did this leave after registering at the KPU Kepri with my partner, Ms. Suryani, which is scheduled for September 4, 2020," said Isdianto.
For the leave period that has been proposed to the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Isdianto said, it will last for 71 days.
The leave starts on September 26, 2020, and will last for two months.

"During that time, I will focus on the vision and mission campaign of the INSANI," said Isdianto.
Regarding who's the Ad-interim (Plt) will be appointed to replace his position, Isdianto said that he fully handed over to the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.
Isdianto said that he did not propose any criteria regarding who's the Ad-interim Governor of Riau Islands will be.
During his leave, Isdianto will focus on a joint vision and mission campaign with a coalition of the Hanura Party, Democrats, PAN, and PKS.
Isdianto plans to declare INSANI at Engku Hamidah area, Batam, Riau Islands, on September 3, 2020.
