TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi is considered inconsistent in carrying out the draft regulations regarding health protocols.

Rudi, who returns to Mayor Regulation ( Perwako) Batam in December, is suspected of "seeking it safe" by delaying the implementation of sanctions from Perwako regarding health protocols.

In other words, Batam, which every day new confirmed positive Covid-19 cases increases, only relies on appeals without any sanctions.

Currently corona cases are increasing in Batam, starting from July to entering September.

This condition was exacerbated, where previously several health center were closed including one hospital, because there was a cluster of medical personnel.

In addition, most sub-districts in Batam have changed to red zones.

For information, Batam Government has imposed a Mayor Regulation regarding enforcement of health protocols for the public and business actors since Wednesday (9/9/2020).

Surprisingly on the same day, Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi actually stated that enforcement of sanctions, especially fines, was postponed.

"I don't want to be a burden to the community," said Rudi, coinciding with the validity period of Perwako Number 49/2020.

This attitude has undoubtedly been highlighted by the Chairman of Commission I DPRD Batam City, Budi Mardiyanto.

According to Budi, the government was inconsistent in realizing the implementation of this Perwako.

"The problem is, I told the government at the beginning, making Perwako should not only be made but realized with sincerity," said Budi, Friday (11/9/2020).
