Karimun Added Two Positive Covid-19 Cases, Have Travel History from Batam

TRIBUNBATAM.id, KARIMUN - Positive confirmed Covid-19 cases in Karimun have increased again.

On Tuesday (29/9/2020) afternoon, Karimun District Covid-19 Acceleration Task Force received official information that there were additional 2 positive Covid-19 patients.

Rachmadi, spokesperson of Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling in Karimun Regency, who is also the Head of Karimun Regency Health Department, said that previously the throat swab samples for 2 patients were sent to Galang Hospital.

"Today again there are 2 positive people, the results of the independent private clinic PCR RSKI," said Rachmadi, Tuesday evening.

The two new patients are male. One is a resident of Karimun District and the other is a resident of Meral District.

For the history of its spread, one patient had a travel history from Poso and the other from Batam City.

"The two of them are workers at the port. But not from a vertical agency," said Rachmadi.

Rachmadi said that before the results of the swab test came out, the two patients underwent isolation at the West Meral Health Center.

"The rapid results are 3 times reactive and isolated in West Meral. Now they have been taken to the Muhammad Sani Regional Hospital," explained Rachmadi.

With this latest information, the number of positive Covid-19 patients treated at Muhammad Sani Hospital is 3 people.

"We have tracing the close contact of the two patients. Tomorrow will be swab," added Rachmadi.

Meanwhile, the total number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Karimun Regency is now 41 people.

In details 37 patients recovered, one died and 3 others were in treatment.
