TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Positive cases of Covid-19 in Batam have now reached 1,862 people, Saturday (10/10).
Of these, 52 were declared dead, while 1,623 were declared recovered.
A total of 187 patients are still undergoing treatment at a number of referral hospitals for Covid-19 treatment.
Although the number of positive patients has almost exceeded two thousand, the Head of the Batam City Communication and Information Department, Azril Apriansyah, said that the addition of coronavirus cases in October tends to slope.
In the first week, the number of positive patients was recorded as many as 142 patients.
Meanwhile, in the second week, the addition of patients reached 84 cases.
"On October 10, there were an additional 28 positive cases, and 30 patients recovered," said the Head of the Batam City Information and Communication Department, Azril Apriansyah in a statement received by TribunBatam.id, Sunday (11/10/2020).
He revealed that patients with a background in the profession of private employees still dominate the number of Covid-19 cases, which is 775 cases.
The second highest number came from the classification of housewives with 210 cases, followed by health workers with 168 cases.
Along with the increasing number of Covid-19 cases that were declared discarded, a number of zones in Batam City also changed color.

In September 2020, Batam was dominated by a red zone around mainland, now, various colors can be seen on the latest map of the Batam City Covid-19 Task Force Team.
Bulang, Belakangpadang, and Galang Districts are still in the green zone, with no number of cases being treated.
Now, four sub-districts in mainland have turned orange, namely Sei Beduk District (16 cases), Batu Aji District (19 cases), Lubuk Baja District (16 cases), and Bengkong District (15 cases).
Meanwhile, Nongsa and Batu Ampar Districts have recovered to the yellow zone with the Covid-19 numbers under treatment, namely 9 and 4 cases, respectively.
