70 Applicants In a Day, Batam Immigration Still Serves Passport Processing in the Midst Covid-19

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, passport processing services at the TPI Batam Special Class IA Immigration Office have been running since June.

PASSPORT - Head of the Batam TPI Class IA Special Immigration Office, Ismoyo said, passport processing services at the Batam Immigration Office continue to run amid Covid-19. It's just that per day is limited to 70 applicants.

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, passport processing services at the TPI Batam Special Class IA Immigration Office have been running since June 2020.

Head of the TPI Batam Special Class IA Immigration Office, Ismoyo said services were still limited during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Services are still being carried out but adjusting to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic," said Ismoyo, Thursday (22/10/2020).

He admitted that his party only served 70 applicants every day.

Then in the Passport Service Unit in Harbourbay serving only 20 applicants.

This figure is much lower than usual.

"We have not enforced a normal quota in order to protect the applicant and also protect the officers from being exposed to Covid-19," he said.

While in office, his party implemented health protocols.

Like keeping your distance, wearing a mask, the inspection process starts from entry to the process.

Ismoyo emphasized that the applicants should not stack up at the same time, so there is a time arrangement.

"Currently there are no longer passport extensions. But passport changes," he said.
