Magnitude 5.0 Earthquake Shakes Banggai Laut Central Sulawesi, BMKG: No Tsunami Potential
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) stated that the earthquake was centered at 123 kilometers southwest of Banggai Laut.
TRIBUNBATAM.id, CENTRAL SULAWESI - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 rocked Banggai Laut Regency, Central Sulawesi and its surroundings on Tuesday (16/3/2021) 13.05 WIB.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) stated that the earthquake was centered at 123 kilometers southwest of Banggai Laut.
The epicenter was 10 kilometers deep.

According to BMKG, this earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami wave.
Apart from Banggai Laut, this shock was also reported in Morowali, North Morowali, Banggai Islands, and Banggai.
Until this news was broadcast, there hadn't been any reports of damage or casualties arising from the earthquake. (*)
