TRIBUNBATAM.id - Cumulatively, positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia as of Friday (9/10/2021) reached 4,158,731 cases, after adding 5,376 new cases today.

Meanwhile, 315 people died. This addition brings the total death toll related to Covid-19 in Indonesia to 138,431 cases. 

As of today, the number of recovered patients has increased by 14,356 cases.

This addition brings the total patient recovery rate since the beginning of the pandemic to reach 3,901,766 cases.

The number of specimens examined per day is 235,681.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases was still at 118,534 cases, after a decrease of 9,295 patients compared to the previous day.

In the midst of controlling Covid-19 through PPKM based on level, the government is known to continue to boost the vaccination program. 

In the latest report, the Covid-19 situation in Indonesia as of September 8, 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) highlighted North Kalimantan (Kaltara) as the only province in Indonesia with a very high transmission rate of Covid-19 (CT4).

The rate of transmission is calculated per 100 thousand inhabitants. The incidence of Covid-19 cases in North Kalimantan Province reached 206.9 per 100,000 population.

WHO said that number stand from August 30 to September 5, 2021, the highest for the past 14 days. 

Meanwhile, referring to the data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force during July-September 2021, the trend of adding positive cases of the corona virus slowly decreased from August to early September 2021. 

Previously, the number of positive cases in Indonesia had jumped dramatically on July 15 with 56,757 daily cases.

Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said mental health problems could become the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic if not addressed globally. 

"As we face a growing burden of disease, the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases (including mental health) need more attention now," Budi said in an official statement during the G20 meeting in Rome, Italy, Sunday (9/5/2021).
