Moreover, recently Indonesia was ranked second after Malaysia as a popular halal tourist destination in the world according to the 2022 Global Muslim Travel Index.

There are quite a lot of areas that support halal tourism in Indonesia, and are even known to be in a number of big cities in Indonesia.

This halal tourism provides a variety of friendly facilities for Muslim tourists, ranging from access, services, types of activities, to the processing and serving of food.

The goal is none other than to provide comfort and tranquility for Muslim tourists while on vacation.

For those of you who are planning a vacation, there's nothing wrong with visiting the following halal tourist cities.

No need to worry because this halal tourist spot is not only intended for Muslim visitors, but can also be enjoyed by non-Muslim tourists. 

1. Lombok

Setanggor Village in West Praya District is one of the halal tourism areas in Lombok.

Here there are attractions for farming, raising livestock, gardening, art, and learning to read the Koran.

Lombok is also known as the island of a thousand mosques.

One of the magnificent mosques to visit is the Great Mosque of Hubbul Wathan Islamic Center NTB.

Apart from being a place of worship, the mosque has been designated as an icon of religious tourism by the local government, and it is never empty of visitors.

2. Aceh

Going to Aceh is incomplete if you don't stop at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, which was established since the time of the Aceh Sultanate, designed by a Dutch architect.

Not far from the mosque, you can visit the Aceh Tsunami Museum which is used as an educational center as well as a monument to commemorate the tsunami disaster in 2004.

3. Riau

The next halal tourism in Indonesia is in Riau.

Visitors who come to Bumi Lancang Kuning don't need to worry because there are many places of worship and halal food here.

One of the famous tourist objects that must be visited is the Siak Sri Indrapura Palace, located in Kampung Dalam, Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau.

It is said that the architectural style of the Siak Palace has a mixture of Arab, Malay and European cultures.

4. DKI Jakarta

DKI Jakarta has many tourist attractions and halal restaurants certified by MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council).

5. West Sumatra

There are no less choices for halal tourist attractions in West Sumatra.

7. Yogyakarta

The atmosphere of Yogyakarta is still very thick with Javanese tradition and culture from the time of their ancestors. 

Halal tourism in Indonesia has many historic buildings from Islamic empires, one of which is the Sultanate of Yogyakarta.
