TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The City Government of Batam or Pemko Batam established the Batam Tourism Promotion Department called Badan Promosi Pariwisata Batam period in 2019-2023 and inaugurated the policy determining elements also implementing elements of this agency, Tuesday (3/9) afternoon, in the 4th floor of Batam Mayor Building, in st. Engku Putri, Batam Center, Batam, Kepulauan Riau.
The Mayor of Batam, Rudi said, the establishment of the Badan Promosi Pariwisata is to help the government related to the promotion and development of tourist destinations in Batam.
"From the government there are not enough employees, so that's why this department was formed under the coordination of the Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata," said Rudi.

Then the Badan Promosi Pariwisata formed another executor in the field.
Rudi hope that the existence of this department can enliven Batam. Especially in tourism side.
"It's time for batam to be revived. 3 years and 5 months I was in charge, we did so many improvements," he said.

Meanwhile, in his greet, Rudi left a message to the management of the policy maker and implementing elements of the Badan Promosi Pariwisata that newly appointed.
"I entrust, the success of Batam tourism is one of them on this management. My duty is, Batam is beautiful, can be enjoyed all of us," said Rudi.
"Today is not finished yet. But at least it has been able to create the promotion of Batam to the outside," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Badan Promosi Pariwisata, Rahman Usman said that, the formation of this department as a mandate of Law with No.10 of 2009 concerning in Tourism.
This department be in charge with assisting the government to increasing the tourism branding in Batam. Besides, this department is also become a spearhead to bring forward the tourism.

"Increasing the number of the visits of foreign tourists and the domestic tourists," Rahman said, Tuesday (03/09/2019).
The newly appointed and confirmed BPPD Policy Elements consist of nine people representing in various fields, namely the experts that represented by H. Rahman Usman, academics Muhammad Nur Nasution, Sylvia Hilda, AKARI Kepri, Febriansyah, IMA Kepri, Andika Lim, ASITA Kepri , Muhammad Mansyur, PHRI Batam, Fri Surbakti, HPI Batam and Fahkrial flight representatives, as well as the port represented by Julmarly.
In the Implementing Element, that led by Executive Director, Edi Sutrisno, Head of Media, Bambang Saputra, Head of Institutional Relations, Martin Baron, Head of Event and MICE, William Augustto Widjono, Head of Development and Research, Muhammad Syafluddin Laba, Head of International Relations, Teliyana Liu, Head of Human Resource Development, Alfian, and the Head of Marketing and Communication were held by Willy Rachdiyan.

"In MICE, we haven't moved yet so much. Even though the potential is huge. We must do this, so, in the future Batam's tourism branding will become more famous," Rahman said while hoping that Batam could become a MICE City.
The secretary of Badan Promosi Pariwisata Batam, Febriansyah said that, the formation of the Badan Promosi Pariwisata just only in the first period in Batam.
"For all this time, the tourism associations in Batam was walk alone, but now, we are gathering. We are doing the promotion together, with an eye to, Batam tourism will be more loudly outward," said Febriansyah. (tribunbatam.id/dewi haryati)
