Budget allocation for Padang Melang Festival is now being shifted to handling Corona virus outbreak.
The annual beachside festival on Jemaja Island was forced to be canceled.
Head of Tourism and Culture Department in Anambas Islands Regency, Masykur confirmed this.
According to him, all budget allocations for activities up to the end of the year experienced a shift to overcome Covid-19.
"Yes, due to budget refocussing, Padang Melang Festival will be abolished," said Masykur, Wednesday (05/13/2020).

The plan is for the festival to be held in July 2020.
Even Padang Melang Festival in 2020, according to him, will penetrate the international arena due to the breakthrough of Tourism Office which will invite several countries to attend and witness Indonesian cultural treats through Padang Melang Festival in 2020.
Unfortunately, it was forced to be undone because of this Corona virus outbreak.
In addition to introducing Indonesian culture, especially Anambas culture to foreign countries, Masykur said this was also a form of regional promotion to be known for foreign countries through Padang Melang Festival.
