TRIBUNBATAM.id, TANJUNGPINANG - Today (12/5/2020), Dumai Express ferry ship sailed again after a vacuum had been affected by Corona virus pandemic.
This sea transportation starts at 06.00 WIB from the Port of Sri Bintan Pura Tanjungpinang.
"Yes, it is true. But the route is not as usual, the last port is only up to Selat Panjang," said Head of Safety and Shipping Section at Syahbandar Port and Port Authority Office (KSOP) of Tanjungpinang, Imran, Monday (05/11/2020).
In more detail, he explained, the shipping route is Tanjungpinang to Tanjung Balai Karimun then to Tanjung Samak and finally to Selat Panjang.
"If in the letter it is received there is no mention of just one sail, only it is said to be operational again," he said.
Since Covid-19 outbreak in several areas of Riau Islands, shipping at Port of Sri Bintan Pura only serves Batam destination.

The departure of the ship was not like ordinary days.
If the ship sailed every 15-30 minutes before, since the beginning of March the ship departs every two hours starting at 08.30 WIB.
"Previously, once an hour departed, because empty of passengers became two hours," said Public Relations Pelindo 1 Tanjungpinang Ogy Silalahi.
Ogy explained that strict health protocols during the pandemic also prevented inter-island shipping.
