TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -- New rules. Foreign nationals who wish to enter Indonesia are required to apply for a visa and residence permit that prioritizes standard health protocols.
This is emphasized in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumhan) Number 26 of 2020 concerning visas and residence permits during the adaptation period of new habits.
Under this regulation, a certain number of foreigners have been allowed to enter Indonesia.
Even so, in the meantime, new visitor visas can be issued for foreigners who have business interests, urgent work, buying and selling transactions, and others.

"For business visits and emergency work, a visit visa is allowed. But, of course the application must prioritize health protocols," said Head of Class 1 Batam Immigration, Ibnu Ismoyo during a socialization at the Batam Pemko Building, Thursday (10/22/2020).
He continued, now foreigners can also apply for an electronic visa online at visa.imigration.go.id
This online visa application process is considered to be faster and more efficient in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
According to Ismoyo, foreigners who want to enter Indonesia are also required to have a guarantor while in Indonesia, as well as a minimum living cost guarantee of 10,000 US dollars.
"Foreigners are also required to comply with standard health protocols and are willing to be monitored, quarantined and subjected to examinations," added Ismoyo.
