ATB's Contract Extended or Replaced, Batam DPRD Asks for the Water Management Review

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  PT Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB) concession managing water in Batam will ends in 2020, discourse has arisen, the government is taking a role in water management in Batam.

The discourse was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of Batam DPRD, Ruslan Ali Wasyim.

Although the concession ends next year, but until now there is no clarity, who will manage the water supply in Batam in the future.

Ruslan Ali Wasyim said that there was a need for a review of the water management in Batam. 

Ruslan also requested and encouraged the regional government to be able to take a role in water management going forward.

"We encourage the local governments to take a role in the matter of sustainable management, where even if the role is not in the management of operational implementation or other matters, the government must take part in the concession extension for the future," Ruslan told to Tribun Batam 

Ruslan also said that his party would communicate this to the local government in order to take a role in water management. 

Ruslan hopes that when the water manager changes, a better manager must be found today. 

"Even though in the future, the executive must be sought for, the title must be better, and this cannot be tried," said Ruslan, who is also the Chairman of the DPD II of the Batam City Golkar Party. (*)
