TRIBUNBATAM.id - Before Christmas, operational services at Beton Sekupang port were reopened.

BP Batam's Director of Promotion and Public Relations Dendi Gustinandar said, this was according to the previous plan.

Because Batuampar port is currently under the spotlight of various parties. It is considered unfeasible.

"Hopefully, Sekupang port is ready. All that's left is the technical problem of removal," said Dendi, Thursday (11/14/2019).

He said, since the port was original place of Pelni ship port, it was not so complicated.

It's just that, technically there are some administrative things that must be taken.

"Right, so it is indeed our hope, passenger transportation ahead of Christmas or new year can already be operational in Sekupang Concrete. We pray that it will be realized soon," he said.

Previously, Pelni port was at Sekupang Concrete Port.

Batam residents, Tahap asked, if it is no longer possible in Batu Ampar, it must be returned to its original location.

"Because only that is feasible. But the problem is, it belongs to the company.

Must be placed in all relevant cross-governmental positions. Including Batam City Government, "said Tahap.

As is known, Republic Indonesia Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan at that time asked Batam City Beton Sekupang Port, which has been used for shipping for Pelud KM owned by PT Pelni to be moved because it was deemed inappropriate.

"I ask that Pelni Port (Batam Concrete Port) be moved to Batuampar on Monday (20/6) too.

It's condition is no longer appropriate to serve homecoming passengers, "said Jonan, after reviewing the port's readiness to face Lebaran homecoming season, in Batam, Friday, June 17, 2016.

He said Batuampar Harbor had a dock and other facilities, better than Beton Sekupang Port which was not actually designed for Pelni-leaning ships.

"Batuampar Harbor is good, the terminal already exists.

If you don't use a tent, you can. We have to move this Monday," he said.

For other ports in Batam City, in general are ready to serve passengers for Eid 1437 Hijriyah.

"My notes are only Pelni's because they are not feasible. For others there is no problem.

The ships have also checked their readiness to serve homecoming, "he said. (Tribunbatam.id/leo Halawa)
