TRIBUNBATAM.id - The conflicts between conventional and online taxis in Batam are endless.
Responding to this frequent riots, the Head of the Traffic and Road Transportation Office of the Riau Islands Transportation Department, Frengki Willianto said, his party had often reminded that online taxis do not enter the area without obtaining permission from the manager.
"We have warned online taxis, do not enter areas or areas that have not been authorized by the management," said Frengki, Saturday (12/28/2019).
As for conventional taxi drivers, Frengki warned against persecution.
If a violation is found in the field, it must be submitted to the authorities.
Frengki appealed to conventional taxis and online taxis to restrain themselves, so that no party was harmed in this case.
"We ask, the licensed online taxis to avoid and do not enter places that have not been permitted, while for conventional taxis, do not carry out the persecution against special rental transportation. If there's a violation, please submit it to the security forces, don't judge unilaterally," said Frengki.
In addition to the issue of operational permits, other problems in the form of online taxi passenger pick-up points in Batam also often trigger a scene.
The reason is that conventional taxis in Batam always find several online taxi drivers picking up the passengers in the red zone (pick up point agreement). (tribunbatam.id/alamudin)
