"The decline in passengers is huge. If the percentage could be 80 percent for international routes. For domestic it is not too affected. I cannot say the percent yet, yes 70 percent more list is still on (domestic) now," Nelson said, Tuesday (31 / 3/2020).

 He admitted that the decline in the port of goods was not as big as the decrease in human traffic in domestic and international ports.

Previously, passenger traffic at international ports was very crowded.

So far, he said, responding to this condition, his party had only met with several international ports in Batam City.

From the meeting it was revealed, a decrease in the volume of ships sailing to Malaysia and Singapore.

"Just a few hours ago a meeting with all international port managers. On average they all reduced the volume of ship departure and arrival," he said.

Nelson continued, for tourist areas, such as to a special port in Nongsa Poin, until now it is still operating. Indeed the Nongsa area is a tourist area.

"Nongsa points remain. In Nongsa there is tourism, a fixed port, because that port is closed (specifically)," Nelson said.

As for goods in the port of Batuampar, the decline is recognized.
