UPDATE: Total, there are 49.009 Cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, Adding 1.113

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The government submitted the latest information regarding the Covid-19 case and showed that the transmission of the coronavirus was still spreading in the community.

The coronavirus transmission causes Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to continue to grow until now.

Based on data entered until Wednesday (6/24/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 1,113 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The addition caused there are now 49,009 cases of Covid-19 in the country, counted since the first case was announced on March 2, 2020.

This information was conveyed by Government Spokesperson for Corona Virus Handling, Achmad Yurianto at a press conference at Graha BNPB on Wednesday afternoon. 

A total of 1,113 new cases obtained today were identified by examination of 21,233 specimens in the same period.

Meanwhile, a total of 689,452 specimens have been examined from 413,919 people who were sampled. This means that one specimen can be taken more than once.

In addition, Yurianto also explained the regions with the highest addition of new cases. In this period, East Java was recorded as the province with the newest cases with 183 patients.

Next, DKI Jakarta with 157 patients, South Sulawesi with 132 patients, North Maluku with 95 patients, and South Kalimantan with 90 patients. 

Data on patients who recover

The data also showed that there were 417 Covid-19 patients who recovered in the same period.

They were declared cured after being declared negative coronavirus based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

Thus, there are now 19,658 Covid-19 patients who have been considered cured after being infected with the coronavirus. 

Data of patients who died

However, there is still sad news delivered by Yurianto with the patient still dying after being previously exposed to Covid-19.

There were 38 Covid-19 patients who died in the period 23 - 24 June 2020.

"So that the total is 2,573 people," Achmad Yurianto said. 

OPD and PDP data

All provinces or 34 provinces in Indonesia have recorded Covid-19 cases.

In particular, there are already 443 districts/cities affected by 34 provinces. This number increased by one region compared to yesterday's data.

In addition, the government also announced data on the number of people with the status of People Under Monitoring (ODP) and Patients Under Supervision (PDP).

At present, there are 36,648 people with ODP status. Then, there are 13,069 people with PDP status. (*)
