Covid-19 Transmission Can be Through the Air, Here's the Government Explanation and its Prevention

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Government Spokesperson for Corona Virus Handling, Achmad Yurianto explained, the microdroplet problem that was mentioned could trigger Covid-19 transmission through the air.

Microdroplets are small droplets originating from people infected with Covid-19.

This microdroplet, said Yuri, will last longer in conditions of a closed place or area with poor ventilation. 

Therefore, he explained a number of steps so that people avoid Covid-19 transmission through microdroplets floating in the air. 

First, the public must wear a mask. 

"Whatever the reason, wear a mask wherever you are because this will protect us," said Yuri. 

Second, make sure to maintain a safe distance when making social contact. Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters - 2 meters. 

Third, diligently wash your hands with soap and use running water. 

"Fourth, for those of us who work in a fixed room, such as a workspace in an office, make sure that the air circulation and ventilation of our workspace are replaced every day," Yuri said. 

"As much as possible, if access to fresh air from outside can be done, then do it," he continued asserting.

The same thing according to him must also be done in the vehicle.

Yuri suggested that people open their car windows every morning before leaving for work. 

Reported earlier, WHO acknowledged "emerging evidence" about the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus causing Covid-19 by air, at a media briefing in Geneva on Tuesday (07/07/2020).

Maria Van Kerkhove, Covid-19 pandemic technical leader at WHO, said they had talked about the possibility of airborne transmission and aerosol transmission (virus particles floating in the air) as a form of transmission from Covid-19.

Benedetta Allegranzi, the WHO technical leader for the prevention and control of infections also said that there was evidence emerging about the transmission of coronavirus by air, but it was not definitive.
