"The possibility of transmission by air in the public environment - especially in conditions that are very specific, dense, closed and improperly ventilated has been described, (and) cannot be ruled out," he said, as reported by Reuters on Wednesday (07/07/2020).

"However, the evidence must still be collected and interpreted, and we will continue to support this," he added.

The recognition of WHO follows the encouragement of 239 experts in 32 countries for the WHO to revise its recommendations.

Previously, WHO said that the virus that causes Covid-19 generally spreads through droplets or splashes coming out of the nose and mouth of an infected person.
