IBADAH UMROH - The first phase of the Umrah service will be opened tomorrow, Sunday (4/10/2020) with a capacity limit of 30 percent per day in the Grand Mosque area of Mecca.

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  Although currently the Government of Saudi Arabia has opened permits to perform Hajj and Umrah for Indonesia, however, many congregations have chosen to cancel their departure for their Umrah pilgrimage.

For example, in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri). In this area most of the Umrah pilgrims chose not to leave.

Head of the Haj and Umrah Division of the Ministry of Religion, Karimun Regency, Endang Sri Wahyu, confirmed that many Umrah pilgrims from Karimun Regency canceled their departure.

The condition must be quarantine until there is an increase in costs

Strong suspicion, this is because there are a number of requirements that must be met and are considered very burdensome.

"It is suspected that one of them is because they have to undergo quarantine before entering Saudi Arabia," said Endang by telephone, Thursday (12/11/2020).

Not only that, Endang admitted, there are several other considerations, namely the cost of the Umrah service which has increased.

Where previously was around Rp. 25 million, and now it is Rp. 35 million.

"The increase is for the self-quarantine budget for 3 days," said Endang.

There are no new Umrah applications

In addition, lodging for congregations is currently also being separated, where one hotel room is for one congregation.

"So, the cost is getting higher and it is inevitable," continued Endang.

Furthermore, Endang said that until now there were no Karimun people who had registered to go to Umrah.

In fact, those who should be able to leave, instead delay until the cost of departure is completely stable and returns to its original state. (*)
