Official! BP Batam and PT Moya Manage Clean Water Provision After ATB Concession Ends

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  Batam Business Entity (BP Batam) officially operates a drinking water supply system (SPAM) in Batam after the end of the concession with ATB at exactly 00.00 WIB, Sunday (11/15/2020).

The transfer of responsibility for water management was marked by the operational handover activity from PT ATB to BP Batam which was held in the Meeting Room of the Mukakuning Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Batam. 

This operational handover was also attended by the President Director of PT Moya SPAM Batam, Sutedi Raharjo, Head of Operation of PT ATB, Muhammad bin Ismaun, as well as the Director of the Facility and Environment Business Entity of BP Batam, Binsa Tambunan.

Muhammad bin Ismaun expressed his appreciation to BP Batam and PT Moya Indonesia for working hard together to improve raw water supply services in Batam. 

Director of Restructuring of BP Batam, Arham S. Torik, stated that the effort to terminate the concession had undergone a long and certainly not easy process.

However, as of December 15, 2020, BP Batam can officially fully assume responsibility as the manager of SPAM in Batam, in collaboration with a third party, PT Moya Indonesia.

After being entrusted by BP Batam, PT Moya, represented by the President Director, Sutedi Raharjo, immediately explained the mechanism for water billing after the end of the concession. 

As agreed, customer account bills are still being processed by PT ATB until November 30, 2020. 

However, the Batam SPAM Customer Service Office (KPP) in the Batam Center area, will officially operate starting Monday (16/11/2020).

The public can submit complaints or request information via Call Center 150155. 

Some time after the operational handover took place, BP Batam, through the Directorate of Asset Security, carried out the orientation and security of the WTP facility. 

In the form of tanks and intake pumps at the Drinking Water Treatment Plant in 6 locations by placing 63 personnel, and conducting patrols to guard posts of SPAM facilities with a strength of 50 personnel.

Likewise, a team from the BU Fasling BP Batam Raw Water unit sent 10 personnel to record flowmeters at 6 WTPs in Batam. (Tribunbatam.id/Hening Sekar Utami)
