TRIBUNBATAM.id - Almost one year the Covid-19 pandemic has occurred in Indonesia, but there is no sign that Covid-19 can be controlled.
The government continues to intensify tracing cases of Covid-19 to prevent transmission of Covid-19 in the community.
Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force reported that until Wednesday (8/2/2021), new confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia currently reached 1,183,555 cases.
The total cases were obtained after the addition of 8,776 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours yesterday.
The data also showed that as many as 8,776 new positive cases of Covid-19 were obtained from examining 70,312 specimens from 41,053 people sampled in a day.
Cumulatively, the number of specimens that have been examined is 9,862,240 of the 6,553,179 people sampled.
Meanwhile, the new positive cases of Covid-19 are spread across 34 provinces. DKI Jakarta is the province with the highest cases, with 3,309 new cases.
Followed by Central Java with 1,220 new cases, West Java with 660 new cases, East Java with 603 new cases and East Kalimantan with 498 new cases.

Speeding Covid-19 tracing
The government is intensifying 3T, namely testing, tracing and treatment of Covid-19 cases, especially in areas that implement a micro-scale Public Activity Restriction Enforcement (PPKM).
Director of Prevention and Control of Direct Communicable Diseases at the Directorate General of P2P of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that to accelerate close contact tracing for positive cases, his party uses an antigen rapid test or antigen rapid test to diagnose someone exposed to Covid-19 or not.
In a press conference, Wednesday (10/2/2021), Nadia said that the antigen rapid test kits will be available at community health centers in the regions to support micro-scale PPKM.
"As directed by the Minister of Health, the antigen rapid test is used for epidemiological purposes and for diagnosis. Do not let antigens be used for screening or for someone to travel," said Nadia.
According to Nadia, as many as 1.7 million antigen rapid test kits will be provided to focus on the implementation of tracking or tracing Covid-19 cases in 98 districts / cities that implement micro-PPKM.
The regencies / cities in question are located in seven provinces, namely, DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DIY, East Java and Bali. (*)
