TRIBUNBATAM.id - Positive cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) increased by 10,337 today, Wednesday (9/1/2021).

This addition brings the total positive cases in Indonesia to 4,100,138 since it was first announced by President Joko Widodo in early March 2020.

Referring to data from the Ministry of Health, of the total positive cases, 3,776,891 of them have recovered.

The number of recovered patients increased by 16,397 from the previous day.

While as many as 133,676 other people died.

Patients who died after being infected with the coronavirus increased by 653 from yesterday.

Then there were 189,571 active cases or patients who were hospitalized or in self-isolation.

This number decreased dramatically compared to July 2021. The specimens examined were 220,061 samples. 

The Covid-19 pandemic is still hitting Indonesia. Had experienced a spike in cases a few weeks after Eid 2021, now cases are starting to decline.

Both the number of new cases and patients who died.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that the transmission rate of the coronavirus had fallen to 90 percent on Monday, (8/30/2021). 

"This is seen from confirmed cases and nationally, which fell to 90.4 percent today.

Specifically in Java-Bali it fell to 94 percent from its peak point on July 15," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, (8/30/2021). 

The decline in the transmission rate has implications for the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in a number of areas until 6 September.

The number of regions implementing PPKM Level 4 has also decreased because the level of transmission has begun to decline. 

Regions outside Java-Bali that implement PPKM Level 4 at the provincial level, decreased from 7 to 4 provinces.

At the district/city level, it also dropped to 85 from 104 last week.

Regions implementing PPKM Level 3 also decreased, from 234 to 232 regencies/cities. 

Then, the area that implemented PPKM Level 2 became 68 from the original 48 regencies/cities outside Java-Bali in the previous week.

Then, there is one area that applies PPKM Level 1.

Last week, there was no area that implemented PPKM Level 1.

Meanwhile, in Java and Bali, the number of regions implementing PPKM Level 4 was reduced from 51 to 25 districts/cities.

PPKM Level 3 increased from 67 to 76 districts/cities.

The number of regions implementing PPKM Level 2 increased from 10 to 27 districts/cities.
