Indonesia Receives 207 Thousand AstraZeneca Vaccines from Netherlands

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Indonesia received 207,000 AstraZeneca vaccines from the Dutch government with a bilateral scheme on Saturday (9/4/2021).

With the arrival of the 49th phase, the government has secured 220.4 million doses of vaccine both in bulk and finished form.

Sufficient stock and fast distribution are cited by the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate as the key to accelerating the vaccination program.

For this reason, the government continues to strive to bring in vaccines, both through bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

As one of the efforts to coexist with Covid-19, vaccination needs to be accelerated and its reach continues to be expanded.

Although the number of transmissions on a national scale has been decreased, the discipline of health protocols must still be carried out.

Johnny emphasized that the Covid-19 vaccination provides maximum protection if it is accompanied by the use of masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands. 

"Strengthening the availability of stocks and accelerating the distribution of vaccines in an effective manner are the main keys in dealing with the pandemic.

However, the public must always remember that to maximize this, health protocols must be strengthened, such as using masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands," he said. 

In addition to strengthening the availability of vaccine stocks, the government also continues to invite the public to actively participate in handling the pandemic by using the PeduliLindung application.

The use of technology and information in protecting Protect, said Johnny, plays an important role in strengthening the process of tracking and anticipating the spread of Covid-19.
