TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) evaluates the achievements of the 2019 integrated prevention supervision (korsupgah) coordination program in Riau Islands.
In the evaluation, the KPK noted that there were still a number of problems related to the management of regional government assets in the Riau Islands, including related to asset ownership conflicts between regional governments, BP Batam and BUMN.
KPK Deputy Chairperson, Lili Pintauli Siregar said, the legal aspect was very important and the KPK found assets originating from grants from former BUMNs, companies, vertical agencies or from regional government spending did not have proof of ownership.
These conditions, said Lili, increase the potential for control of assets in the form of land, property or official vehicles by third parties, individuals, foundations or companies.
The KPK, she said, also found the implementation of BMD loans or regional government assets that were not in accordance with the provisions.

"The Corruption Eradication Commission will oversee carefully and ensure that the commitment to reform local governance in the Riau Islands province is carried out transparently, accountably and sustainably and free from unauthorized intervention from any party," Lili said in the Batam City Government building, Monday (24/2 / 2020).

Lili added, a number of action plans have been established and have been carried out since 2019 which will facilitate meetings between parties to the conflict in ownership of assets.
The KPK will also coordinate with ministries related to the regulation and recording of assets originating from grants.
In addition, the Corruption Eradication Commission also encourages regional governments to withdraw assets held by third parties through persuasive means or in collaboration with the Civil and Administrative Assistant of the Prosecutor's Department through civil and criminal legal processes.
"Regarding the BMD loan-use-asset agreement, the KPK asks the regional government to refer to the applicable rules by disciplining the administration of borrow and use, especially those that have expired," explained Lili. (*)
